The House

Dusty’s Place is set on a 3/4 acre private site and is situated down an access only road. There are only a couple of houses nearby and the most closest neighbours tend to be sheep, cows and possibly Elvis the donkey. The house features an extensive fully enclosed rear garden, two living rooms, large kitchen, four bedrooms, one en-suite and three of which are downstairs, separate bathroom and additional downstairs toilet. Bedrooms (three kingsize, one twin) can accommodate up to eight adults/children over 2yrs and a travel cot is also available. There is a dishwasher and washing machine. A vast selection of books, CDs, DVD, and videos are available for use during your stay. The oil fired central heating is on a meter and an allowance is provided. A supply of turf/wood is available for the Stanley stove to get you started. Dusty’s Place is a non smoking house.

“Absolutely fantastic “home from home”. We were made to feel so welcome. Loads of places to go and things to see, everything within easy reach. We will definitely return again next year as this had everything we could ever want from a holiday. The dogs enjoyed their stay too. ” – Golidie, Rosie and Mollies family

Some frequently asked questions: if you have a specific question that is not listed, please do just get in touch.

Q: How many dogs can I bring? A: As many as you like.

Q: Is there any additional charge for dogs? A: No, absolutely not.

Q: What if my dog damages something? A: Our experience to date is that any damage which has occurred has been caused by people. We do ask for a deposit, so if there is anything broken or damaged we reserve the right to use the deposit to replace or repair. However, we will return whatever remains of the deposit to you.

Q: How enclosed is your garden really? A: It is bounded by a combination of wooden and sheep wire fencing which is 5 ft high. If your dog is an escape artist and can burrow or jump, then we can’t obviously guarantee they won’t get out.

Q: Are the dogs allowed throughout the house? A: Dogs are allowed anywhere downstairs including on the leather furniture but not on the beds as it is impossible to get dog hairs out of duvets. Upstairs is carpeted and has one bedroom and a large open plan area. It generally only gets used for larger families where kids may want a separate space.

Q: Is there a kennel outside for my dogs? A: No, because dogs are welcome in the house, we don’t provide any outdoor facilities.

Q: Do I have to have a dog to stay at Dusty’s Place? A: No, everyone is welcome with or without dogs. It is set up for dogs and their owners but we have had families stay with us because the enclosed garden and house suited there family members with learning disabilities and/or dementia.

Notes

  • Important announcement

Due to a change in our circumstances we’ve had to make the sad decision to sell our lovely Dusty’s Place. It wasn’t an easy decision to make and we regret that it won’t be available as a dog friendly holiday let next year.

As many of you know, we set up Dusty’s Place because we had become so frustrated trying to find secure dog friendly accommodation that welcomed a family of dogs, not just ‘one small dog.’ We have really enjoyed sharing our home with hundreds of happy dogs and their owners over the past 15 years and we are proud of the fact that we have been able to help make so many enjoyable holiday memories.

Every year we have been delighted to receive many positive comments about Dusty’s Place and the surrounding area. We also loved welcoming so many returning guests.

So if you would like the chance to extend your holiday to a forever home in your own doggy paradise please have a look at the listing

It would make us so happy to know that the home we loved so much could give another family as much pleasure.
