About Dusty’s Place – Est 2006
We set up Dusty’s Place because as a family with three large dogs, we struggled to find places where we were all truly welcome. We fell in love with this part of Donegal – Inishowen, which is part of the Wild Atlantic Way. With the vast empty beaches, beautiful scenery, craic in the pubs and yet still close to towns and the City of Derry and Causeway Coast and Glens. It is the perfect base to explore and enjoy your holiday together.
Dusty was our golden Labrador. Eileen got him as a pup and he grew up in Portrush, then following her to college in Belfast & Dublin – attending lectures, rugby matches, pubs and vetting all visitors to the various student digs. For the last few years of his life, he could be seen on his daily walk in the Mournes and on the beaches of Portrush which he loved. Dusty died aged 15 years on the day we got the keys to this house. We felt the best tribute to Dusty was to name the house after him – so Dusty’s Place was established on the 12 May 2006.
We wanted Dusty’s Place to be somewhere where dogs and their families can be together and have a great holiday. We know the importance of a place where the whole family is welcome, having a good sized safe enclosed garden, a comfortable space to relax in the evenings and a house which is easy to navigate and keep clean.
